The History of the Medieval Arms & Armor

This educational program for middle schoolers will explore the role of arms and armor in the life of the medieval hosted by our enthusiastic experts-in-residence Scott Cordiner, former Museum curator, and John Leysath, curatorial director. Adventurous kids can learn how arms and armor were used and see real life examples. On display will be a number of helmets from the medieval to the Renaissance periods, as well as many other pieces that would typically have been used in that timeframe. This presentation will answer questions about the weight of armor, its durability, and why medieval knights had at least three different types of armor.
This program will be offered in two sessions: 11 am and 1 pm.
Available seats are limited. Adults are $20, Children are $10. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
